THANK YOU to our Community Helpers
Girl Scout Troop 81110 from Middleboro donated a First Aid Kit to our New Bedford domestic violence shelter. The scouts assembled the kit for their Safety Badge in accordance with Red Cross guidelines and added special touches for the children, such as cartoon character bandaids. They also brought a box of delicious Girl Scout Cookies that were a special treat for the women and children in shelter.
Orren Robbins of South Dartmouth started making doll houses when retired as Publisher of The Standard Times in the late 90's for his grandchildren and started donating them to area charities in 2000. He recently donated a doll house to The Women's Center, complete with furniture and a doll family, to be raffled off for the 2nd Annual Men Who Cook Summer Sizzler in July.
