Cheryl Johannessen of New Bedford created Cooks Who Care in 2009,
keeping the original Men Who Cook format of multiple chefs
serving their specialties in a bountiful buffet.
The first year was limited to 12 chefs, but the 2nd Annual Cooks Who
Care on April 24,
2010 grew to 22 chefs, with media coverage on WBSM and FUN 107 radio,
a beer and wine cash bar, and entertainment by One Bad
Ant. All food was prepared on site in the certified kitchen.
Thanks to Cheryl's dedication and hard working committee,
Cooks Who
Care raised nearly $2,000 for TWC. Special thanks to Club
Madeirense who makes it all possible by donating its pavilion for the event,
and to all the businesses and individuals who sold tickets or donated
prizes and services.
